This web site is here to help promote Play-Light Photographic Services.
We provide commercial photographic services for business marketing, advertising, library and editorial. We also provide photographic services for individuals wanting modern family and environmental portraiture and wedding photography. Currently, Play-Light Photographic Services represents the vision of Karl Robertson.
Karl has been a professional photographer since 1996. After leaving the University of Northumbria at Newcastle with a Degree in Media Production, Karl worked as a Director of Photography on several Pop promos, before moving into studio based portraiture with Olan Mills while studying the burgeoning digital arts at night school. In 1996 Karl joined Image Photo Services of Miami and began working on Royal Caribbean Cruise Ships for four years doing weddings, portrait and social photography. It was during this time that Karl learned the ins and outs working with families, pets and models. Karl specialize in getting spontaneous and natural images even out of teenagers. From 2001 to 2004 Karl was head hunted by the Venture group and became a franchisee starting Venture Canterbury helping to shape the largest UK portrait chain. In 2004 Karl moved to Wales to help set up a studio for a Cardiff based processing house as well as freelancing for commercial agents. Karl has now brought his experience both commercial and private under the umbrella of Play-Light Photographic Services.
